I just got a wood burning stove about 3 years ago.
The heat off it is unreal and free to use.
Their is tonnes of wood thrown out every day.
I've enough wood to keep me going the 2 years.
There is a bit of work chopping up the wood but it keeps ya fit.

Where did you get it and how much ?

I don't use my gas fire (first bill was ridiculous) so was thinking of having a 'real' fire put in instead - the chimney is real so should be able for it
It's a small world after all. It's a small, small world

I got it in a place in ashbourne. But i think there is a fireplace place near you
in liffey valley. If you need a hand let me know.

Same as. Gas fire there when i moved in. Planning on ripping it out over the weekend. It appears to be just the gas pipe coming in to the normal fireplace so should be easy. Don't be too surprised to read of an explosion in the Crumlin area. It's not always pipe bombs

Defo Stove's ROCK!

I've had them in my last 3 house, I'd never have a house without one, soooooooo much more effient of fuel and sooo controllable. We have 2 in this house, 1 in the kitchen and 1 in the living room, I boil the kettle to make tea on it at night and all and then fill a hot water bottle to bring to bed

We got ours from http://www.cosy.ie
just installed this one 2 weeks ago - http://www.eurosalve.com/proddetail.php?prod=STV$
cost €400 , cast iron (no firebrick to replace), all parts available.

Frank, Ferg, if you get one and want firewood, gimme a pm, i've a contact for you and can deliver a load to the house, good value too

Spideóg, who said anything about a poteen still

gather up yer pots and yer ould tin cans,
the mash the corn the barley and the bran,
run like the divil from the excise man

J.L. can't use coal in wood burners

Frank,

One of the bigest suppliers of stoves is the one mentioned by Stig, their H.Q. here in Cashel and they have a very big selection to choose. No affiliation. The good thing is that there are fitting/chimney regulations for gas fires but not for wood burners so your onto a winner straight away and you'll get your money back in no time with savings on the price of gas.
