Jag X-TypeAnyone got anything good or bad to say about them.
2004 2.0L Diesel... Thanks G
Re: Jag X-TypeYou're going to hear people say that they are 'just' a Mondeo under the skin - to some extent that's true, but the Mondeo is a fantastic car, so what's the problem.
The 2.0d is a four-pot, so is a little agricultural. Pity they didn't come in straight-6... Jag forum is here: http://www.jaguarforum.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=14&sid=9cf2ad412a116a33f51db4e4388559bf Honest John review is here: http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/index.htm?md=164 The estate is an awesome car - although estates don't seem to be very popular here in the south generally. Just note that you can get an S-type for similar money or an XJ etc It's a small world after all. It's a small, small world
Re: Jag X-Type+1, yep ,the mondeo running gear would be good alright. I had 2 diesel mondeos, never ever gave me any bother. I used to service them myself, very easy.
The TDCi unit is a good un' - no timing belt to worrry about, its got a timing chain that lasts the life of the engine. Easy on fuel too, easy 50+. Servicing is reasonable too and you get the service items for the jag x type D in any ford dealers. They are not as roomy as a Mondeo, but are kinda unique as there not too many round, esp in estate.
Re: Jag X-TypeThanks lads, I might be having a look at one or two over the weekend..
Although I won't be trading in the 5! g
