Help... 03 Mini Cooper

Postby Roleary780 » Tue, 23 Nov 2010 2:27 +0000

Hey All,

Just wondering if anybody can shed light on a problem that im having with a Mini Cooper.
When accelerating at speed the car shakes/vibrates (not the steering wheel or gear lever) just the car itself.
anyone have any ideas why this would happen??

Cheers
Richard.

Wheel balance or engine/gearbox mountings??

might even be a flywheel issue....

Thanks for that lads, found that the Inner CV joint on the drive shaft was gone, hoping that will solve it!

When you say flywheel issue?? what would that be, had the gearbox replaced last year, which makes me nervous to say the least!

not sure about mini's, but lots of newer cars have dual mass flywheels which give trouble eventually.
