Deserted VW VAN

My friend spotted a deserted T25 VW van without reg plates which I didnt realise makes it legal for anyone to take it. It is left hand drive. He towed it and is restoring it making it into a German Police van which the colour will be white and a fairly pukey green ! It is diesel and not in bad shape at all. I came accross only two pics of this type of German Police van, after googling.

That's it apart from my friend's one has no windows. He is going to do it the same as this leaving it as a panelled van.
He is VW mad. Has three of this mark and two Beetles. I like looking at them as they are being restored and customised but would have no interest in owning one.
