Wheeler dealers

Postby Pops » Wed, 06 Dec 2017 8:26 +0000

New series coming in January, I’ve watched the first four episodes online, don’t know what Ed China was whining about as it seems to be the same old format.
Ant Ansted does some nice explanations how things work without the orange marigolds.
Speaking of Ed , his YouTube channel is gone very quiet

A number of years back they done a Mariner blue NA 1.6 with white alloys if I remember correctly. A good watch but Mike Brewer fries my head !

You could be correct..the last MoT expired in 2013 It reminds me of my first MX5 - same colour.
What's the other show that's on these days.....Car SOS ?

Ya, car sos, Tim Shaw & Fuzz Townsend, same ideas but much more English so no mustangs etc. For the love of cars was Ant Ansted’s show, Philip Glenester was co host, good show. Still think the best car type series was A car is born with an ex animal vet Mark Williams, built a mg roadster, a old motorbike on a bike is reborn and even a helicopter on a chopper is born

Oh yeah, Mark Williams - I liked his stuff. I found him to be quite humorous too. And as I ride older bikes myself, I liked that aspect of his show too.
Recently I saw him doing a property show !!

Yes - that Bernie show did my head in. All he did was shout at people.

Saw a recent Car SOS where they did a black mk1 MX5.

That car turned out very good, it’s obvious in the end result that a lot of what was done wasn’t shown, like how the dash was stripped and recoloured, the re trim of seats, mohair hood etc.
I did think that 300bhp might be a bit much for the poor guy but they kept it down to an extra 50bhp , would it really have been worth it in normal circumstances.

Yes..... I think 300bhp would be more than ample for anyone - especially in something as light as a MX5. Especially on a roundabout. After a shower.

Would be great to see them actually doing more - as in doing stuff, tho I suppose they can only give a broad overview of work done.
