Well that was a fun day

Just in from test driving the new Vauxhall Insignia around Milbroke proving ground. Great day and very well run by the staff.
After the introduction and walk around the car's they let us outside where 40 odd cars where parked. Choice of models from 130bhp diesel up to the 2.8l v6.
First up for me was the 2 l turbo Sri.
Off up the mountain course which is a series of very tight corners and steep hills. 1 way 2 lane road of about 4 miles which was great to test out the handleing and power. (man i wish we could book a track day there!!!)
After that head out on to the banked circuit for a spot of high speed testing. Hit 120 mph in the 4th lane of it and then thought i better back off as they said to not exceed 100. Whoops.
After that dad drove a 130bhp diesel which was painfully slow i have to say but it was all that was left. Then i had another go this time in the 160bhp diesel. Not as slow as the one dad drove but it felt pretty heavy compared to the sri. Managed to get the traction control to step in quite a few times.
Like i said great day, nice looking car and a decent bit of power for a family hatch.
