Ireland out of world cup

Postby leamyj » Thu, 19 Nov 2009 1:31 +0000

Just been browsing through youtube and looking at comments etc on how Ireland were robbed last night. There's some VERY unsavoury comment attached to a lot of the posts.
If FIFA were honourable, surely they'd insist on a re-match or is that a non-runner??
Anyone care to comment, bearing in mind the rules here regarding racist posts
I am now refusing to eat frog's legs, snails and croissants on any of our runs

I wish they would get a grip, it's only a game.
I'm glad hopefully we are out now and i won't have to listen to
all the crap over the next year or so.

I can't believe they where talking about it in the Dail
the state the country is in and they are talking about football!!

Was extremely proud of the team last night and felt they deserved better but it's embarassing to have our Justice Minister making a fool of himself calling for a replay.

Now that I think of it it's embarassing to have this government.

I guess you're thrilled to hear Taoiseach Brian Cowen announce from Brussels that the Irish Government will be supporting the FAI replay-request, with Sports Minister Martin Cullen writing to FIFA to make an official complaint :?:

Henri cheated & celebrated the fact :bball: . he should now be suspended from playing at the World cup. He doesn't have to worry if it has a detrimental effect on his career.......he could always get a senior job with AIB with his resume (probably wouldn't go for the €500,000 cap on salary though.

Typical government clap trap  . However, it might only be a game Ivan but on the BBC news this evening an economist said that loosing the match has meant a loss of £100 million to the Irish economy :( .
