I wouldn't worry about it John. When the Gardai go on strike you can just pop into the bank and top up on cash.

Good point.........Ahhhhhhhhhh, the Budget. Well I hope they struggle with it, and we get a GE soon - anything to get this shower out of Government (incl the greens) is a good thing.
They led us all into this holy disaster and the expect us to trust them to pull us out of it?? NO WAY!

Yeah, they would have us driving G-Whizz's if they got a chance and burning our own shite to keep warm.

I think leave them in there, a new goverment is going to try and be popular
they won't make the tough choices that will p1ss people off.
The greens are just doing what the EU tells them.

And listening to the other side, they just don't have a clue.
They are just sayong what people want to hear.
Listened to George lee the other day, think he has forgotten everything he knew about the economy.

Ivan, I repect you and your opinion an stuff but I don't agree with any of the above. None of it. :|
Your take on it is indicitive of the poor way this gov has reacted to this financial crisis - the "a shure leave it as it is and see what happens mentality cos we're all fucked anyways and its not our fault, it was Leaman Bros Bank in the States that did all this, not us bollox"
This HARD budget should have happened 18 months ago - this is going to be TOO hard, Too late on TOO many people all ready finding it hard to get the bills paid.
And you watch, the high earners will get away easy enough today.
And what will they do for you and I today, the self employed ?- fcuk all - they'll screw us more. And as for small business who create jobs, what'll be done for them ,fcuk all which will be a massive error as its small biz that will create jobs and get the economy out of this mess. And as for the dole spongers primetime tv investigtion the other night, Aggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I was so fucking ANGRY!!!!
Anyways, calm down Ollie, we'll have to see what happens but it's not going to be pretty.

I agree totally with you Stig, but my point is any other crowd getting in is not going to do any better. I've heard nothing from any other side thats going to chnage things. Infact all i've heard is stuff to make it worse.

if they sorted out the spongers and fraudsters as per the prime time programme things wouldn't be half as bad. looking for 4billion in cuts this year and next, when according to prime time there could be over 5billion claimed frauduantly every year. they worst thing is these claiments plead ignorance and get away with a slap on the wrist. make them earn their money, building flood defenses, cleaning grass verges on roads etc. this country's a soft touch for scroungers and it's the paye worker who has to pay for it all.

Ivan, we've had 3 near 3 decade of FF rule - and they lead us into 3 recessions and handled all 3 badly, past performance in their case IS definately proof of future performance.

Time for a change.......

Exactly, they don't even want to be in power.
So whats the point in having a GE if the other side don't want to be there.

Shower of tossers   - Green/Fianna Fail Christmas song 2009 to be released tomorrow morning = I saw NAMA killing SANTA CLAUS up in the Dail last night.

And, just in case there might be a backbench revolt, they intend rushing the legislation through before the backbenchers gett back to theor constituencies - a la the 21 day unpaid leave fiasco. How :puker: :pukel: :puker: is that?

As for the sweetner's - (a) lowering the excise on alcohol - that's a laugh coming from a Minister for Finance who's misfortunate father had to undergo a liver transplant. You'd think he have learnt what the effects of alcohol are   and (b) a car scrappage scheme - huh! talk about closing the door when Windsor and all the other horses have bolted, another laugh DOH!.

And to think that a poor misfortunate man in Dundalk was jailed for non-payment of a €12.70 dog licence when the parasites on the Prime Time, who defrauded all of us out of €100's k's with their Social Welfare scams, play the poor mouth and say "what can I do to pay it back" and get away scot free. I'll tell you what they should do, don't jail them - they commited a crime and abused the hospitality of the Irish people - extradite them lock stock and barrel - no questions asked and fcuk Amnesty International   . Rant over - until after the budget.

It's all VERY SICKENING Tom I agree.

@ Ivan & Barney; they do want to be in there in power, because thats what it's all about, POWER!
and another thing - FF only ever maintain control of power in good economic enviroments (remember the 80's when FG got power) - so this is FG's chance to get back in power. Just look at history lads, it has a NASTY tendency to repeat itself
