900 Hr Service on a Lifeboat with pics.

Engines are 27 Litre V12 Caterpillars. 1250 BHP each at 2300 rpm. Cylinder Heads weigh 240 kgs each . Lifted out/in thro forward hatch and placed on a mono rail into engine room. 4 chain blocks use to lift and refit heads .

Here one I liked... it a boiler for a steam power tug I was on in France during the summer. Beautifull engineeing!

Job done......Sea Trial today from Oldcourt outside Baltimore around the Fastnet Lighthouse, around Dursey Island and back to Castletownbere. 3 weeks work and just one weeping Jubilee Clip supplying the cabin heating.
