Hi all
Was going to get the parts ready for service and general maintenance.
Filters. Belts. All oils. Cables and leads. Brakes. Gaskets.......
Is there anything you would think I should do thats not on the list.
This is a jap import, MK2 1.6, 95000k on the clock and this is its first reg.
Can we buy all we need from a store over here or do we have to go to England ?
Is there one place that is recommended over another ?
Any feed back on where to go and whats best to buy, before I do it, would be appreciated

Jack

check your pcv valve

a dodgey one can contribute alot to oil consumption.
deffo do the fuel filter- a messy job but worthwhile

flush your coolant and clean out your rad - the ammount of mk2 rads ive had to replace due to crud filled rads is nothin normal
use pink antifreeze, not blue or green.
if you have an inordinate ammount of orange sludge in your rad , buy a new one.
buy a new rad cap ?

check your thermoswitch at the back of the engine - ie does you rad fan come on when the engine is upto temp ?

use a genuine mazda thermostat

clean out your throttle body - rmove it and squirt in loads of carb cleaner esp in your iscv

thats about it

Thanks Paul
Always nice to have an idea before you start. There's nothing worse than some one saying, " did you not do that !"

no probs

also when doing your fuel filter the mk2 uses little white clips

when you unclip the old filter , they are left attached to the old filter and need swapped over to the new one..... while youre doing this , you will find petrol leaking all over the show - it might be worthwhile ordering a couple of spare clips to help speed things up ;)

total arse of a job , not hard but messy - plus if youre a smoker, dont be lighting up straight after ;)
