Hi folks....as of now (1:16am,saturday morning 9th Feb 2008.......hic!) we have the grand total of 171 "registered users" in this club! My point is this.......i propose that any "user" who does not post at least once a month (a fortnight maybe ) should have their membership revoked and be unceremoniously thrown out of the club!...Why join the club if you cant be bothered to contribute? Its an enthusiasts club,is it not?.....Once a month is only 12 posts per year, once a fortnight works out at 24 posts a year minimum.....thats not too much to ask is it? Discuss!

I'll take it that you've had a few scoops Sean Seriously though. This forum is available to people with all levels of interest. Cleaning out 'users' that are dubious (spam inspired) is fair enough but I don't feel blocking genuine users who only wish to post every now and then is on. Everyone is different and I would have thought we could accomodate all sorts.

This is going to be a quickie (oooeeerrr missus) as Match of the Day is just starting......
With regards to reducing this number of fake/no longer active accounts, perhaps a "declaration of interest" could be held whereby those who wish to remain active indicate so, and all who haven't (say after a month or so) are removed. This shouldn't affect those who wish to remain registered, but who d not want to post.
BTW, I see there are now 176 registered users (Saturday, 9th Feb. at 10:22)!

Well, tis now gone back down to about 113 after I deleted 68 spam accounts. Waste of time since they'll just be back later.

In my opinion, I think deleting members (excpet spams) would be a bad thing for the club. I'm sure that there are plenty of registered users who just log on when they have a problem, but who are not as active as some ofthe rest of us. By deleting them, you may deprive them of some useful advice. Not everyone wants to be involved in a club to the same extent - some people like committees and membership fees, somel ike the casual approach (including me) and others have no interest in a club but need advice from time to time - and I think they should be allowed access.

True, but what about the dud user accounts that are never used ? People don't have to sign up and join etc to read stuff posted so why bother making an account if their not going to bother logging in ? If people want info it's all there and they can view it without logging in. I think if an account has not been logged into for 3 months or more then it should be deleted.
