Car cover

Hi all

Looking to the Winter and finding a cover for my 5 as it will be in the driveway this year.

Came across these guys, anyone have any experience with them?

Had a car cover on mine last winter, you gotta make sure that they are really well tied down . Take regular opportunities to let the car breathe too...don't believe the crap about the covers being "breathable"...

I've often considered using a cover too for the same reason. But covers can potentially mark the paintwork so I've been hesitant.
I think leamyj is correct when he says they need to be secured really well.

Personally I would never use one on a car if stored outside. I have never used one on a car but always had one on my bikes because they were always stored outside. It's grand on a fine day but it's when it's windy is when the damage is done. The paintwork on my bikes was always damaged by them. It was never bad but enough for me to notice and be pissed off about it.

Thanks Guys - looks like only negative opinions then .. I'll give it a good polish and then tuck it up in the corner of the drive for the winter ..

Taking the battery out - i have a trickle charger - any other advice for the long break:)

2 or 3 socks full of kitty litter will do wonders to keep the dampness out. Throw one in the boot aswell.

Good tip there, Ray! Definitely worth putting something that absorbs dampness. Would cat litter do as good of a job as the moisture absorbers you can buy in shops?
