Postby garythesign » Tue, 14 Mar 2017 11:02 +0000

We are moving to Ireland in two weeks with two UK registered Hondas

I intend to buy a MX5 in Ireland

Any advice regarding motor insurance greatly received

For standard car insurance make sure you get proof of no claims before cancelling any English policy. Lots of brokers here looking for "safe" customers and will quote accordingly, others are just taking every cent they think they can get.
Have you checked with your present company if they operate in Ireland?
I found Autoline in coleraine to be the only one to quote me under a classic car policy ( 93 mx5), you must have separate cover on a car (but it doesn't need to be with them).
Good luck with the move

Another thing, for the Honda insurance, if you add each other as named drivers on the 2 policy's it usually brings the price down a bit
