A bit of nice German vintage...

Postby 93 Mk1 » Tue, 31 Oct 2017 6:41 +0000

I spotted this yesterday: an old Benz S-class with a nice straight 6 motor. A more age-related reg plate would be nice but it looked pretty immaculate.....see further down as the original images wouldn't work !

Sounds good, and would love to see it - but no pics coming thru for me.

That's gorgeous. (And, for me, i kinda think it's such a pity about the ZV plate).

It really was pretty mint. I agree about the plates. Even black/silver or red/white plates would look more period than those.
Still though, the car's a credit to whoever owns it ! Those types of old Merc's just remind me of older spy films set in Berlin !!

Yes.... looks very straight. It has obviously had a lot spent on it.

Gorgeous, I love old Mercs, have had 2 W201s (Saloons) and 2 W123s (coupe and estate). One of those above (W115) would be a lovely commuter.

Prior to your MX-5 days I presume ?
I'd always liked the idea of a W124 300CE but the motor tax says no !!
