Low coolant

Hi folks, I'm coming out of hibernation.

When I fill my radiator it seems to loose fluid but not over heat. When it cools down there is a lot of room for more fluid. It seems to disappear only after it gets fully warmed up. It never appears to over heat. Any thoughts?

Hi Jaybond. Did you not have a problem at the Japfest day last year. Is your current problem related?

I don't think so. The problem at Japfest was a hose that had worn a sprung a leak. I replaced it and flushed the rad and refilled and then since then I have had my eye on the fluid and that is why I noticed.
Is there any trick in filling it up maybe?

Rad cap maybe? Sounds like its leaking only under pressure.. worth trying first.

Could be a pin hole leak somewhere too thats drying out with the heat of the engine. You can use UV dye and a blacklight to trace it.

check your cooling fan is working ,

let car heat up to normal temp and see if it kicks in

if not , ground the tfa plug in the diagnostics connector , if it works you have a bad thermoswitch

i reckon your coolant is boiling off
