Decat vs High flow cat

I'm going to be getting a custom exhaust made up in the near future and wondering if I should go with my silenced decat from mx5parts or a highflow cat.
Thinking of silenced decat to magnaflow silencer to skyline shotgun style tips. all in 2.5" SS. I'm not doing it for the power 'increase'. I know there will be none, apart from a little more response.
I'm looking for a nice sounding exhaust. Something like the buddyclub spec 2. Some rasp but sort of deep at the same time. Sounds 'powerful', if you will.
So, any ideas? I havnt fitted the silenced cat yet. I'm hoping this will make it sound less 'tinny' with the cat-back and straight through, or, high flow silencer.
I do like the sound of the cat-backs with an 'N1' type backbox.
Thanks.

If it were me, I'd go for the silenced cat bypass. An un-silenced cat bypass combined with a "loud"-ish exhaust will be
very loud. The silenced cat bypass will still enhance the sound of a custom pipe without making it excessive.

That's what I was hoping. We'll see how it goes anyway. Hopfully when I ask the lads in Souhans, they'll know what the buddyclub sounds like haha

I looked into this when I was replacing my exhaust. I decided not to go for the unsilenced cat.....I even left the standard one on !
I eventually bought a Cobalt stainless system from Moss UK that was on special offer.

Nice one. How do you find it?
The noise is still good with the standard cat, but I want that crackle on pops.

I love it - it's tame enough at low rpm but gets nice & deep under load when accelerating. It has a nice tone. I didn't want anything too
extreme as I'm a middle aged fart !!! :D Plus I have been to Europe in the car and didn't want anything too loud for long distance as it
becomes tiring after a while.

Just listened to some vids of cobalt exhausts and love it. Nice and deep. Thats what I'm going for. there would be a bit of rasp then with the silenced cat. Lovely. I'll look into them. Thanks!
