Called to see some old workmates yesterday. Had just parked the car, and was about to get out when I noticed a car starting to reverse out of a space, back towards me.....so I sat on, and it got closer, but I think "they're bound to see me"....and it got closer.....and closer, so I turns on the engine and sticks it in reverse and start to shift backwards, then realise there is a concrete pillar behind so I can't go too far........and it gets even closer still - so I decide it's time to show 'em what me horn can do, and start blasting frantically.......... and still it keeps coming ever closer until CRUNCH....................then it stops!

"I just didn't see you" was the excuse. It appears that despite having three fully functioning mirrors, not one of them were put into use, nor was a shoulder looked over, prior to starting the reversing manouvre (DAMN).
Anyways, thankfully they were moving rather slowly at the time of impact, and it is all surface damage - not dents or broken lights etc. (had I not have moved back the passenger door, or at least the front wing, would have got the full brunt of it). Got a quote today to patch it up, and it is an eye-watering 600 notes (Pete, that's almost as much as 2 gazillion of your mongolian scroats). Labour is the most expensive part - about 400 notes - as the whole front section will be stripped back, sanded, then resprayed.
DAMN, I say....and DAMN again!
