Sure does, Why oh why didn't Mazda lacquer them from the factory.
To get it to that state I ground down the cast marks, sanded down the whole thing, spent a while polishing it, got feed up and gave it to dave who shot blasted it. Then gave it to the nice body shop who lacquered it.
Gotta say though the depth of shine on it now is brilliant.
WIll have to do the throttle body next.

Hey Ash,

Thats a fantastic job you did with the cam cover.... 8) What kind of money did it cost to do overall.??

Did you need to replace the cam cover seals after doing the job?? Looks like a job thats well worth doing...hmmmmmmmmm

Well done it looks the business alright.

By the look of your engine bay, it seems you have alot more work planned...am I right.??
Look forward to seeing it soon.

Regards John.

Cheers John,
I just replaced the cam cover gasket when doing it. No need to do the seals.
It cost a grand total of 30 notes. 8)
Got the cam cover for free of Sean (well it was actually about 15 hours of engine work but hey ho)
Spent a good bit of time grinding/sanding and polishing it. Then gave it to sspec dave who shot blasted it at work.
€20 was for spraying it with the lacquer by the local body shop. He did it whilst he was clearcoating something else hence the good price.
The cam cover gasket was a tenner from mx5 parts.

Yeah got a few things planned, Jr intake is the next thing to arrive. Already installed a link ecu so should go well together.
Must get on with cleaning the rest of the engine bay.
