I want to try and get a new hood for my car.

anyone know where i can get a cheap one. fitted would be nice too.

Well he fitted my tan roof when I bought the car from him, had no complaints. From his listing in carzone.ie , he's closing down.

You don't need anyone to fit it for you. I was shopping around also for a while and ended up giving it a go myself (and thank god I did as it is so easy and saves you a good bit of money).
I see webcars is closing down and he offers prices fitted, but than he states that he no longer provides a fitting service. You can probably get the hood for a very good price from him. Ask him for the brand.
I fitted 2 mohair ones. Bought them from MX5 parts
Let me know where abouts you are in the country and I'll see if I can give you a hand fitting... (takes about 4-5 hrs in dry conditions and is really easy - and that's from someone who is very far from being a mechanic)

The roof has to 'set' for a few weeks as it is fabric you're working with, after that it is all smooooooth.

That's a pity that Art is closing down, he did a good job on my roof, I have it about a year now, and it still looks great!

It cost me about €650 (I think) but worth it as he did such a good job.

I fully agree with cloggy on this as if you are anyway handy and have the necessary tools its well within achieving a fairly good job.Gather as much info as you can possibly find and photos too it helps first time around.Hoods these days are very competively priced and some are well made too,the only one that gave me any bother was a vinyl one from mx5parts it was a very tight fit but looked great when fitted and i have fitted three hoods at this stage.

Sure there's another irish place i found on google charging 980euro for a roof fitted and it's not even mohair

Well my roof got split in an underground carpark so I'm still deciding will i fork out the money for a mohair. When there's a chance that some scumbag will just split it for laughs and respect from his mates.
