Hi there,

Here is my pride and joy - a 2002 1.8 Phoenix bought from a Mazda garage in Offaly last September. I think I actually love her

What modifications would you recommend to make the most of her beauty?

I've already upgraded the stereo, but am also thinking of changing the repeaters to clear ones, and also the front reflectors. I was looking at the Budget repeaters with chrome surround on mx5parts.co.uk but is there anywhere to get reflectors without paying 34 sterling?

Is there anything else that you would suggest that wouldn't cost the earth?

Would suggest replacing those grills with a set of driving lights. They change the whole profile of the front of the car. Lights are set back, similar to those on Frank's jag. I got a set from MX5 parts for circa £160 stg, however they don't appear to be stocked now.

PS You bought the car in Offaly. Was it in Lambes? If it was, I think I saw it passing by one day and when I went back the following day to have a look at it, it was gone!

Mwah ha ha haaaaa (evil laugh) Yes it was me! Sorry about that, but she has a great home now

I had been looking for a while, drove a few mx5's (and also some hyundai coupes, Alfa GTs etc) before I got 'Harriet' - but thought she was a great deal considering there was a FSH, NCT'd until 2012, and above all, the hard top. It also had all the nice-to-have extras such as the heated leather seats, electric mirrors etc, which none of the others had. It has some minor dents in the passenger door but I'm going to get those removed by a PDR guy in Dundrum next week.

Love the look of those driving lights. They really make a difference. Your car looks lovely btw, lovely shine to it. I'm just back from Halfords with some chamois cloths and polishing pads to give her a once over this afternoon. Lovely day for it
