Air Scoop

Postby chews » Fri, 25 Oct 2013 3:52 +0000

I was thinking of putting on some kind of air scoop to help get cold air to my induction system. Nothing gaudy or particularly big. In fact, more than likely, something recessed into the bonnet so that there is nothing, or very little, protruding above the bonnet. Possibly something like this http://www.ebay.ie/itm/300989175022

My question was: has anyone ever put in a scoop and what if any difference did it make?

Cutting into my bonnet seems a big decision and I'd like to think it'll achieve something before I go ahead and do it.

To be honest, a turbo is the long term plan. Alas current funds dictate more saving is required and I don't really want to skimp on the turbo.

I might just try and feed a pipe from behind the lower grill up into the engine bay to the intake filter.

Hey Paul, is that a vent cut out of the nose or just a decal? Where did you come across the vented light covers?..Loving the "eyelids" on the headlights too :)

Nice detailing. I've been considering getting the wheel arches but riveting wouldn't work on my 5.

I like the headlight lid scoops. Would love to get one of those. Agree with leamyj, the bumper decal/vent looks cool.
