Hi guys, recently had my MK1 broken into. Soft top tore apart by the rear window section. Nightmare I know... Anyway i've been sleepless for the past week trying to locate a hardtop on this island which Im sure you'll know is not an easy thing to find.
I've now located one but it needs to be painted. I'll be painting myself but would love to see if there's any particular tricks or hints you'd give me for painting the hardtop?

Cheeeers!

Why bother? It'd be dirt cheap to get a pro to do it with solvents. Maybe I'm just lazy?!!

They flake really badly if not done properly, you should get a window seal, pull the old one dont just mask it.

A friend gave me a brief idea of what route to take with painting it along with a bit of reading. I've started with 3 layers of primmer, (after sanding and panel whipe) Just have to do 2 more coats then 3 coats of the Matt Black.

BRG is a hard colour to mix with...
