Headlight Improvements??

Postby leamyj » Tue, 20 Sep 2016 1:27 +0000

As the title suggests.. can anyone recommend an upgrade or improvement on the standard dip beams, I'd see more with the light on my phone!! Not interested in spending crazy money..are the HID's worth the effort?? anyone changed out the lens?? Xenon upgrade??

I'll second the nightbreaker bulbs. They make a really noticeable difference.
Drop over some evening if you want to see the difference. It's a MK1 too.

Thanks guys.
Robert, they're not the sealed units but a previous owner adapted them for side lights by drilling a hole in the reflector and inserting a bulb, i feel the interior surface has dulled somewhat as a result. Earlier in the year I drove across north Wales in the dead of night, was quite tired after 2 days in Oulton Park, but the dip beam was apalling..not an experience I'd like to repeat. Gonna order them WIPAC's straight away.

Ok, update on this. I ordered, as I thought, two of these, but ended up with FOUR.
Anyone in the market for a set of replacement headlamps? Will post on the "for sale" section also...

Memo to self.. READ THE BLOODY DETAILS

I'm also very pleased with Nightbreakers. They are a lot better than the stock bulbs.
