Hi Galls & Guys,
My soft top needs replacing and I've decided already between hard-top or soft-top and decided to go for a Mohair Soft-Top

Choices are: Black or Navy Blue.

I can buy one myself and see if anyone in the club can give me a hand or go to Art (http://www.webcars.net/softtop.htm)

Let me know what you think I should do...

I went for self fit black....
As far as I know someone on here should be able to help ye... The blue mightn't look good if its too blue as opposed to navy.....

If your getting a navy, i'd go for that.....

Yeah Cloggy, I would agree that the navy would look better on your car than the blue. Sure when you buy it put the word out and we'll converge on your pad for a "new hood fitting" party

There's bound to be somebody available who has assisted on this kind of job.

Rob,

As you know Colm fitted my roof this year, having bought it in MX5 parts. My first 5 came with a vinyl roof fitted by Art, and if I can say so the one I have now is a much better job, as the stitching started to pull away from the original hood - whether this was a problem with the hood or the way it was fitted i'm not sure.

Will definitely give you a hand, if you decide to do it yourself, but drilling out the rivets is a job for someone else......

Broni or Robin

Hi Mr Broni,
I liked your Navy blue, after seeing yours. That's why I put blue up.
I guess you voted black. Why would you pick black over blue? (genuine interest)

Navy Mohair but if you cant get that then Black Mohair DEFO man !
Who said something about drilling out the rivets ?
A very simple job if you use a 'counter bit', it takes the head off the rivet in less than 3 seconds then just pull the old rivet out.
Am I teaching now ? (Father Ted -> FECK! Students! Drink! Drink!).

Well if he can do it in 1min 48sec I must be able to do it in 2-3min :)
I sup0pose I will give it a go myself. Still hoping that a few club members can give me a hand or at least look over my shoulder... I'll made the decision after the Midlands Run.

AAAAaaaaaahhhhhhh that's cool Ash. Thanks.
I have some mates coming over. I think they're coming over more for the beer & BBQ than helping me with the roof, but we'll see. And if we get too drunk on Friday, I still have most of saturday to correct any errors.
