I'm really jumping the gun now but ,When I finish the respray I'll most likely want to restore the seats next IMG_2077.JPG drivers side bolster, ( pic needs rotation) , the base is badly cracked as well, looks as if the leather went hard and cracked. The passengers isn't anywhere near as bad thankfully but still needs refurb I got a guy out to give me a price ( holy fluck) he reckons I need to remove the seats, send them to limerick so that repair panels can be fitted ( app €350) (the one seat in pic) then he can do the re dye (€275) for me. And it's not even April . No chance that I could justify that so I need some ideas as to how to repair them. I'm not sure but I think it was Steve who said someone knew the colour code for the red leather but I'm damned if I can find the post. My wife had a handbag obsession so there are a multitude of (handbags/purses) leather patches available (don't imagine any of them are a Michael Kors (hopefully)) , some are even near to the colour so il need a good repair/ glue kit and then the colour restore paint , if anyone knows what's best to use I'd be grateful

Well, with one eye on the match , I gave it a go as I thought I'd nothing to lose IMG_2118.JPG doner number 1,Visconti London genuine leather IMG_2119.JPG doner number 2, genuine Dunnes Stores scrubbing sponge IMG_2120.JPG sponge filler glued in IMG_2122.JPG first cut of patch IMG_2124.JPG end result, have to leave it now . I imagine I'll sit in it 4 or 5 times before it all comes apart but here's hoping

Thanks, I found the two pots of angelus leather paint that came with the car, one bright red and one brown. The previous owner was able to mix them together to get the colour, so if the patch holds then I'll try recolour them

Hi John. What are you gluing the patches with? I bought a refurb kit off the bay and did a job on my seats and the glue was perfect. Still rock solid a year later. Also in the refurb kit was filler to fill in all the little/big cracks. It did a great job on it.

I got the idea that I'd nothing to lose by trying myself since I had the dye, so I cut up a handbag for the patch and used the only glue I had , durabond 100% something, suitable for many things including leather. The result isn't very good to be honest,so I'm waiting for a reply as to cost of professional repair from cistyling in limerick. If it's too expensive I'll be on eBay looking for the repair kit. Just thought of a company in Galway that I think does seats, now have to try to find who......, more internet searches I think

Thanks for that, very nice job by the looks of it. Were they expensive? I just got the quote from guy in limerick....€450 to replace damaged parts repair and recolour the pair or €750 to recover both, car is becoming more expensive than it'll ever be worth, anyway, I didn't buy it just to sell it again. You never know, a second hand set may come up in the future

No, those aren't my seats, I had a steering wheel covered by them but got to look around the workshop, some great looking work in there.
