Well, i got a strap from a sports bag, modified it to length etc but found that on the Mark 1, you cant put it in and around the cross-bar before the back window as the cloth (or vinyl) is wrapped around the bar and into the grove or slot the length of the bar.( have a look to undetstand maybe)

I'd have to cut a hole in the vinyl to get it in and around the bar and eventhough the vinyl or cloth I'd be cutting is on the inside of the hood - i'm a bit loath to do it......

Any thoughts gents?

wrap your fingers around the bit that its tucked into and prise it open.. you'll see then that you could put a slot in the flap if you wanted to.. Use a pliers with a rag put in the jaws to squeeze the flap back in.
