Covers?

Postby sabik » Mon, 02 Nov 2009 9:32 +0000

Ha, what this real heavy rain we're getting at the min I'm thinking of getting a cover to go over my hood. The hood doesn't leak much but of late iin the HEAVY rain I'm getting a bit in. So reather than replacing the roof just yet I thinking of a cover.

Anyone using covers and how do you find them? would I be better with full cover or just a small hood cover?

I haven't tried one, but if I don't see a photo of it fitting a mx5 I wouldn't go near it. I've seen back seat covers for a MX5 advertised on ebay. :D

I have a large one of these for a Peugeot 306 Estate I had parked up for about 2 years. I used on the Mx5 for a few months until I sorted out the current parking space! Worked grand.

Go for a full cover, one of the breathable ones not the sh..e plastic ones. I bought one 2 years ago, no issues or problems, works well. I got mine at the classic car show from www.classicadditions.co.uk

Also try the following:

www.airflow-uk.com
www.carcoversuk.com
www.hamiltonclassic.co.uk

Hi I bought two car covers from Halfords for my MX-5, one was a small cover designed to sit over the soft top of a convertible and I bought a second which was designed to fit a standard sized car.

The material on the plastic cover I bought designed only for a soft top ripped during a windy night and so that was not much good.

However the full car cover designed to fit a standard sized car like a fiesta for example is good and I would recommend but does cost around 80 euro so shop around!
