Re: hod cablesIts possible, but a PITA
Re: hood cablesThank, I think I miight give it a go.. the hood its self is on good nick only one nick worth talking about.
Oh and got the Dandycar.com dvd on hood changing and think it's quit good it made me aware of things I wasn't aware of and a very good idea how to change a roof and the things you need to do it. Would still like to see one beening done so anyone thinking of it keep me in mind. Have a friend planning to do one soon but its there first time. Plan on giving them a hand and see how that goes... Re: hood cablesdid the cables snap?
Re: hood cableshmm.. yeah,
remove the metal brackets on the front lip of the hood, then the rubber seal nearest the front corner and the metal bracket under it. If you put your hood halfway up you might get enough slack to pull the front corner edge off the frame (you'll see what I mean ). You should be able to drill out and replace the cable on this end, then thread it through and attach to the spring behind the drivers/passengers head.
Re: hood cablesThat was kinda my plan... from a quick look at it in the dark
Have you done it yourself? Will i need a rivet gun and rivets I think it might be worth getting then for hood changing in the future anyway. Glen
Re: hood cablesyeah, have changed a fair few roofs in the past. Easy enough.
Re: hood cablesgot those cables! and have them ran through the roof wasn't the end of the world... Just used a opened out close hanger. Did have to open the roof a little to get into the rivets but just been carfull got there. only problem is I hadn't got the right size rivet. So to the shops today the will hope to finish off the job this evening. Then the job should be oxo!
