Repair or replace

My vinyl softop is starting to get brittle and the plastic screen is falling in but there’s no leaks.
Having seen 93 MK1s pictures of his mohair roof I’m wondering if I might be better off repairing mine or searching for a good replacement mohair one with a glass screen, my roof has a zipper plastic screen that has to be undone when dropping the roof, I don’t know if a mohair with glass would fold fully because of the brace bar .
Any ideas anyone

A glass window should clear the brace bar. It does on mine.
Regarding the plastic window, a guy here in Cork was able to replace mine years ago with material used on boats. It looked a factory finish so it can be done. A glass window does have a bit better visibility though. I bought my roof from Robert.
A vinyl roof should cost less though.

Pops, I've a mohair roof too, and brace bar fitted, and it folds fine and dandy (with none of the unzipping hassle).

I've a mohair with plastic rear window due to my rollbar braces, a glass one wouldn't fit.
Its worth giving the window a polish with Autoglym's Super Resin Polish, brings it up like new. Also, they'll always feel very brittle in the cold weather (have read of them breaking/shattering when people have hit them to clear snow), maybe wait and see if that changes when the weather warms up a bit?

Thanks for the suggestion of Autoglym, I’ve got some but never tried it on the plastic window, I’ve tried one called Greyson or something like that which is supposed to be for plastic but it hasn’t cut through the damage.
The pics don’t show how bad the screen is, at night it’s almost impossible to see through if there’s a car behind. Don’t know if I should but I’ve given the vinyl a coat of silicone spray in the hope it might soften a bit

Still, I might be tempted by a reasonably priced mohair
