OEM Waterpump or Spurious? Any experience?

spurious has a plastic propellor, original is metal. Not sure how this effects the long term use.

oem mazda units dont come with gaskets as the machined tolerances are excellent - just use some silicon sealant

aftermarket parts , need gaskets but dont come with them , from my experience.
buy a sheet of gasket paper from your local motor factors.


personally , ive always bought oem mazda water pumps.
It would really grind my gears if i cheaped out on a waterpump then 6 months later im having to redo the work , for the sake of a few quid.

I'll be putting a gasket on an oem waterpump for the same reason, doing a timing belt once every 6 yrs is enough. Too cold for it this week.

Myself and Kieran did his one a week or two ago and used the Mazda one.
Why chance it ? I've seen a few go for the non-Mazda one and they always have problems somewhere down the road with them.
