Hello there,

I was wondering if somebody could help me or at least point me in the direction of a decent reliable garage.

I have a 1999 bottle green roadster. It has never given me any bother until lately whilst driving to work. It makes this screeching noise when I start the car and commence driving. It is overpowering and I often get people staring at me worryingly!!. The noise stops eventually!!

I suspect it may be a clutch issue? Would anyone have an idea what this sound might relate to?.
Normally, I get the car serviced in Mayo when I go to my parents house. I live in Kilmainham/Inchicore, would anyone recommend a good garage/mechanic nearby and which/who is not a rip- off merchant?

I would think it is a loose power steering belt.
Should be a very easy job to fix.

Anyone in the Dublin area able to assist this damsel in distress??
Does sound like a slipping belt alright

Yup I agree totally, if its making noise at start up then defo the belts.
5 minute job to sort out, hope a member can assist before a cowboy ROBS her.

It was the waterpump in the end.
