1.6 front caliper bracket. HELP!!

Postby JPW » Sun, 15 Nov 2009 12:35 +0000

l'm posting here for max exposure. Apologies if this offends - feel free to move.

Am in the process of doing pads and discs on 1.6 Eunos and have cross-threaded a bolt in the driver's side caliper bracket. Am now urgently looking for same (complete with healthy bolts) - ideally in or near Dublin but open to suggestions of travelling further afield as the car is understandably un-driveable.

HELP!

if its just a bolt you need, head down to a woodies - they'll have some to get you out of a spot.

hth's.

The bolt, in mashing up its threads, mashed up the corresponding threads in the bracket. Too much brute force and ignorance TBH.

Are you sorted?

If its just the threads, pick up a tap + die set and run a tap through the hole to clean them up (VERY handy to have anyway!!)

Well, I have the part, thanks to Kieran. Not on the car yet but I shall work more slowly and carefully this time! Thanks for moving the thread.

Have spent the evening sitting on the living room floor, in front of the fire, taking the caliper apart while Mrs. JPW watched telly. Ah Domestic Bliss. :D
