A local scrapyard has suggested that a 323 coli pack will work in my MX5, any opinions?

probably not as the early mazda mx5 1.8 coils come in 2 flavours , 3 pin and 4 pin

christ only knows how many pins are on the 323 coil.

your mk2 1.8 will be 4 pin

give it a go and let us know , but be warned , you might do damage to your ecu

I reckon the scrap yard might be trying to sell you something he has ....which is not necessarily the part that will work , but if hes will to stand over any possible damage ........ i personally wouldnt as there is potential for lots of hastle

i have a spare coil here for a mk2 if you need it.
