Looks like you have the alternator belt sorted now? Mine is also a large toothed belt (the PS belt is v.ribbed).

Can't answer the engine code question, but you'll find the code on the driver's side of the block near the rear where it meets the cylinder head.

thanks found it, it ended up being a B6****** yaaay 115/120 horsies instead of only 88
