Wen does the timing belt need done on an mx5 and how much is it likely to cost? I understand that if the belt goes, it wont affect the car so how do i know when it needs done?

every 60k miles or so AFAIR. I'm afraid I don't know how much it would cost as I've done my own in the past.

every 60k miles or every 5 years. whichever comes first. i got mine done recently along with a water pump and a few other bits for 340

And dont' forget new seals while your at it or you'll regret it !
