It'll be Thursday or Friday before I can get back to it so I'll change them out then.
Thanks to everyone for all the info so far.

Re: Engine down 2 cylindersHow about swapping over an ecu?? Worth a try??
Re: Engine down 2 cylindersThink he tried that John... strange issue.
Re: Engine down 2 cylinders
Speed reading again in the early morning..gotta stop doing that
Re: Engine down 2 cylindersProcess of elimination. You 100% sure the coils and other sensors are connected properly???
The perfection of a Car's beauty is that nothing should be there for beauty's sake.
Re: Engine down 2 cylindersHad 20min tonight just to have another quick look. Changed the fuel pressure regulator and same story and did another diagnostic and no flashes after the 3sec solid red. If was a sensor it should be picked up here??
Story so far: With the coil side of things cylinder 2&3 are on one and 1&4 on the other. The engine starts with no effort and has the normal slightly higher revs for cold start and then drops down to normal idle except it's running awful and vibrating mad. From the first day I know that cylinder 1 & 3 are working because the engine runs the exact same without any HT lead going to cylinder 2&4 but if you try to remove 1 or 3 the engine will die. I've put spark testers on all 4 cylinders at the same time and they all flash. One cylinder is working off each coil and it doesn't matter if I use different HT leads or change the outlet of the coil that is used. Cylinder 2&3 spark at the same time and 1&4 at the same time with a wasted spark on one of the cylinders. If cylinder 2&3 were down or 1&4 it would look like a coil but I don't think so here. Changed the coil aswell and no difference. Next major symptom is the amount of fuel coming out the exhaust and draining into to the sump. It's frightening!!!!!!!!!!! Changed the fuel pressure regulator and no change. Could be 2 stuck injectors but i dont think 2 would go at the same time but I'll change them out tomorrow if I get a chance. This engine was running good around 3 months ago. I couldn't remember but the father in law said it was fine in the last shell. Checked a different CAS and ECU and checked the timming belt about 4 times. Could it be a vacum problem maybe? Maybe I've damaged a wire somewhere along the way. Let you know how the injector change goes.
Engine down 2 cylindersNot sure this will be of much help but we changed a head gasket on a glanza once but left it a couple of weeks between stripping and rebuilding. Anyway long story short, on first start up we got a load of white smoke from the exhaust and really rough running. Took ages to work it out but in the end we found out we had mixed up a pipe and was drawing coolant instead of air. Guess what I'm getting at is are you sure all pipes (vacuum, water etc) are all connected up correctly?

Re: Engine down 2 cylindersA few pics of all the piping/fuel lines etc etc would give us more to work with.
If 2 are firing fine and 2 are not (but all 4 are getting spark) - swap around the suspect injectors. You do have a 'PCV Valve' between the intake manifold and the cam/rocker cover don't you ?
Re: Engine down 2 cylindersI don't want to get too excited but changed the 2 injectors and that lovely purr that should come out the exhaust happend!! No mad vibration out of the engine just ticking over a bit high. Now just need to change the oil and put everything back together right and fingers crossed that's it. Thanks again for all the advice.
Re: Engine down 2 cylindersnice one! Glad it worked out.
