Timing belt

Hi everyone,

I've owned my mx5 for 4 years, I've not done the timing belt and there is no knowledge from the previous owner.

I've been quoted €460 to get the timing belt done. Is this reasonable and worthwhile?

Thanks,

You should replace water pump at same time.Is water pump included in price. Also front crank seal and cam seals(2) should be checked for signs of leaks. They cost approx 60e for all 3 but buy from dealers only, not aftermarket as they tend to be slightly smaller and may leak.

Hi Flossy that's a good price from charged-rs.

I fitted this timing belt last year and no problems with it at all. http://www.autolinkmx5.com/timing-belt- ... 5-53-p.asp

Good value.

As autocheck will confirm I like to get cheap parts.
