wow!

Great response to this - thanks. :alien:
Seems like we are going to need a date and a poll on where to go?
Like West Cork, Lim,Galway,Kerry,Clare or inland somewhere?

More thoughts anyone on a suggested Date and more locations?

Heres my tupence worth.

Have been camping in Ireland for years on official sites, with the family - some great ones around:-

Eagle Point - near Bantry fab location at waters edge
Glen of Aherlow - great - restaurant on site
Bennetsbridge, Kilkenny - great (owner odd - but runs a good campsite - homemade breakfasts - animal farm (for Dillon - PJ)
Two in Athlone - one near Clonmacnoise - quiet - and one beside Hodsun Bay hotel, at waters edge - both good
Donard, Co Wicklow - close to Dublin.

Loads to choose from. If your going for an official site might be good idea to let them know in advance - Bennetsbridge in Kilkenny have a field by river which they keep for groups - away from the main campsite though - so if you need the loo in the middle of the night its a behind the tree jobby - used to be a chap there every summer who arrived in a Henkel Bubblecar and set up camp.

Oh, and you can put me down on the list, too.

We're on a week holiday from 8-15, so the last weekend in August is fine for me.
I'm trying to convince my wife to come along. If she agrees, we'll be joining you saturday evening.

I remember Stephen. There again I also remember all the great camping trips I've had in this country.... actually no. They all ended in disaster. Chasing tents around Salthill in minus temps and gale force winds :cyclops:

That said, I'm on for it.

Try to edit your first post and see if poll options come up. Or me/steve can add one for sure.
And i would be up for it as long as i can get the time off etc.
