Redline Oils.

Postby sspecdave » Sat, 02 May 2009 2:25 +0000

Have bought some Redline MT90 from these guys who are the agents for Redline in Ireland.
http://www.couture-auto.com/
They seem like good guys who know there stuff and cars and they also do preformance tuning, dyno days,re-mapping and servicing in case anybody is interested. :!:
Any body used/using Redline :?:

Yup, we had a group buy a few years ago.. Redline for diff and gearbox. Must change the gearbox oil soon actually (HATE that job..).

Good prices on the link below.. can be v.expensive locally.. I looked into bringing in a case (12 bottles) from the US a couple of years ago and it worked out alot better than locally.. hmm... must follow up on it

Ta for the link, am after some injector o-rings, I'd say they'd have something.

Replaced the gear box Oil on the MK2 6 speed with the Redline mt90 and i do seem to notice a difference with smoother gear changes and alot less notchy. :D
Not a bad job to do and IMO worth doing.
Also found this link to help out if you are unsure what to do.

Hi,
I had a notchy change recently mk 2.5 6 speed and brought it to Martin in Mazda longford. He found a loose turret assembly on top of the box.Changed the oil for castrol semi snyth and forte friction lube.Nice results much smoother.Good people there.

Also worth pointing out that there is no turret oil in the 6 speed boxes and for the earlier 6 speed box although they are know to be notchy they are bullet proof. 8)

Agreed.Next time gonna try redline after hearing good reports.Still got the famous 2nd gear stiffness when cold but I'm hoping global warming will fix that.
