T2 - Teena's peaks!

Postby TeenaG » Mon, 14 Jun 2010 10:04 +0000

Instead of driving around Wicklow's hills, last weekend I swapped 4 wheels for 2 feet.... and covered just as much ground!

CashelTom, you'd be proud, I climbed to the Miners' Village in Glendalough, and then up and over the Spink. And then I did it all again, the other way around.

Two mountains in one day (T2) - and three seasons in one day too. I finally got to see the reason for 'the three layers'!

Can't resist a few more....

Started with a sunny day around 8am...

Absolutely beautiful going up The Spink from the wooded ascent.

Walked into a cloud at the top and got soaked, and then the skies cleared:

Good stuff Teena, onwards and upwards to basecamp.

I was up that way last Sunday and climbed Lugnaquilla from Glenmalure. Like yesterday, we had mixed weather that saved its worse till we hit the summit and its best for the end when we reached the Glenmalure Lodge for much needed sustinance.

Didn't get a mountain in this weekend as I was involved with Special Olympics, which was a great success.

Keep up the good work.

Tom
