How Do

Postby Pete JB » Mon, 14 Apr 2008 1:48 +0000

Hi everybody,

Just popping in to say hello as a new forum emmber. I'm Pete, 38 years young, work in I.T. and am on my 2nd MX5 at the minute. I started with a Ford Focus & a 1992 Mk1 in Racing Green as a weekend car. Fast forward 6 months & the Focus is gone, as is the Mk1 and I'm now driving a 1999 Mk2 in red.

Oh' and I had a fantastic run this weekend, don't you just LOVE it! :D

Hi ya Pete,

Welcome on board!! hehe glad to see your driving an MK2 as do I. Mine is
a jap 98 import. Are you going to go on the Galway run?

Lots of fun to be had!! And the MK2s need a good turn out to put a dampner on the MK1s

hehe

But I HAD a MK1, so everybody should love me, I won't be able to go on the Gwalway run, I do a lot of sailing & the season has just kicked off, but i do plan to get to a run at some stage.

Cheers for the warm welcome :D

Also in I/T and also a sailor, and a recent arrival to the MX5'ers - do I see a pattern here :D

I did love my MK1, unfortunately I just do too many miles for work & it was either spend all of my time replacing parts on the Mk1 or head straight for a Mk2. They both ahve their benefits & good an bad points (but not too many of those.)

Midlifecrisis - strange that we both picked a MX5 to go sailing in, probably the worst utility car you can get, but worth it! Where do you sail? I'm all over Ireland for most of the year, and going round it this summer.

Sailing mostly on Lough Derg - do a bit of racing. Currently helm on Beneteau 28.5, but have an Evolution-26 myself, which is in need of much tlc due to lack of use for few years. Also recently bought an old Laser-II for thrashing about. Doing a run down to Cork in July.
