Doesn't really apply here though. It's a depressed car market in Ireland and I honestly can't see mx5 prices jump until the older ones hit the magic 30.

Also, I'd imagine it will only apply to standard/un-modified examples of which a lot aren't !
And yeah, the 30 years thing does give the prices a pretty bump.

The less molested a car is then generally the better a price it'll command as a classic. I'd be of that school of thought myself but the funny thing about mx5sis that the mild modding thing is almost a given. I was looking at a vid by the king of classic cars himself, jay Leno, which was about the 25th anniversary and it showed his na mx5 which was quite modified . I'm surprised by that as he's rather puritanical. So perhaps the mx5 will embrace its mods in its mature classic years.
