Carbon footprint

Does anyone actually give a toss about their carbon footprint, I have to say that i don't. I have made no effort to find out what mine is or any attempt to adjust it. Personally i don't buy into it all and just think that its another way to tax the nuts off everyone in different ways. I also think (maybe a little narrow mindedly of me) that it doesn't really matter what i do it won't make any difference to the overall picture. Ireland's carbon foot print is something like 2% of the uks total which is <2% of the worlds.

You this is my point, take a random sample of people and i wonder how many actually give a toss, or even believe that its a problem, not many i reckone yet it is forced down our throats.
There is an add on the radio for the "green pages" it says something like "wouldn't i tbe great if there was a list of enviromentally friendly companys in ireland"
well no to be quite frank it wouldn't be great in fact it wouldn't make any difference to my life as i will never look at it so stop wasting my time and play some music.

Recycling..yes , everyone should do as much as possible,it's not difficult

down are road every week is good for the enviroment.
And they have to sort all the rubbish anyway.

Ah jaysus Ivan. Do you not have a green bin at least? For me myself I tend to use a lot of plastic bottles and tin cans and I would feel like a bit of a scumbag if I thought they were just gonna dump it in landfill or something.

Not saying just because I put it in the green bin it gets properly recycled but it makes me feel better.

As for energy conservation if you're not trying to cut back on your energy use at current prices then you're screwing yourself. My mother had me well drilled in , lights off, heating off etc from a young age back before there was an environment

I agree with recycling, taking the bus and not festooning my house with electical tat because it makes sense, not because I'm any greener than anyone else.
The government's approach to carbon dioxide lacks common sense, not least because they have an idealist in charge. It has nothing to do with what you drive - my daily driver is a 2000cc Turbo Nissan 200sx, but then again I've just gone three weeks on about €50 worth of fuel so who are they to tell me I'm bad for the environment.
There is hope for us yet though - my brother works as a press officer/photographer for Greenpeace (he's been on RTE a couple of times in the last year) and yet he wants to buy a 2.5 litre subaru legacy!!!!
