Headlight alignment south Dublin?

Postby Reesy » Sun, 23 Jan 2022 1:49 +0000

Hi gang,

My NC is finally getting some improvements after years of neglect. Last week I fitted a lead into the back to the stereo, so now I can use the 'aux / media' setting to play podcasts off my phone - should help make long journeys pass faster.

Next job is to uprate the headlights. The brother commented that they were very dim - I'd never noticed. Got the new bulbs & the adapters that are needed for the dipped beams... so I'll fit them & then I'll need to get them realigned.

Any suggestions for a firm that'll do a proper job of headlight alignment, ideally in / near south Dublin?

Cheers!
No more Mk1, now driving an '08 Mk3. Still fun!

What bulbs and adapters did you use? Asking because if you're fitting the cheap xenon lights they might not give the proper light pattern.
Any reputable garage should have the equipment

Hi Pops, I bought the bulbs from MX5Parts so I should be OK there. Will try fitting the dips shortly.

I just learned that I ordered the wrong damn high beams so I will probably be selling a set of high beam bulbs shortly! Therefore I'll need to get more of the high beam bulbs - can you recommend some to buy or some to avoid?

Cheers, Reesy

Hi, Im not sure but I think the low beam bulbs are H7 and the high beam are H9, they are standard bulbs so should be available in any motor factors.
The cheap bulbs sometimes can give very poor results, I found Bosch purelight bulbs very good but can't find any for the last few years so I have used osram nightbreakers ever since

Hiya, per my original question, I got the alignment done at TP Tyres in Deansgrange. They've always been good to me.
