Its been far too long, I'm older, not wiser, heavier and still an owner of a nice and rare-ish Mx5!
Are any of the original gang still here and driving? Since I saw you all last the yard has grown and the "projects" list has also grown meaning the G Ltd has been half ignored due to her failing the NCT on a cracked spring.. How have you all been, any craic?

Howya, I'd say some of the boys & girls have moved on to something else as it's gone pretty quiet here, still, it's supposedly summertime so a few cars might resurface. I've done very little with mine lately so haven't posted much. Went to the classic show in Galway last week and saw some very nice mx5s but none that I could recognise from here

Hey Pops
Ya, a Forum as specific as this has definitely suffered compared to stupid Facebook groups. I hope some of the old Guard are still running Mx5s. I heard from a friend recently that I accidentally got into Mx5s that the Facebook group cars can be a bit Leary. I think Im coming up to owning an mx5 nearly 20 years now and Id love to meet some of the old crew. I've a great picture framed in the garage of a piece the mx5 uk magazine did on us, I should probably post it.
Anyways hell or high water, my mx5 is officially vintage next year so its going to be back on the road. I need a spare 1k to make it NCT passable and I am currently running too many cars to I will have to sell something. Im glad there is still a bit of activity here.

Would like to see what the English guys had to say back then. The mx5 is such an enjoyable car wether it's working on it or driving it, so whenever you can get some of the work done it's a step nearer to driving it. Mine got to the 30 year bracket last year, €56 tax and 2 year NCT is brilliant

Fla, been too long Yes, Facebook groups took its toll on most forums unfortunately. Good to hear you still have the cars. I'm the same but neither on the road at the moment as another project has come up. I'll hopefully be down your way soon, will let ya know. Pops, do you visit the Galway cars and coffee ever? Usually a couple of MX5s there.

Hi Steve, no haven't been to the cars and coffee, never seem to remember it is on, my neighbour goes sometimes and enjoys it. I'll have to get him to remind me next time.

Why do we do it to ourselves, the projects! Ive a Subaru Legacy GT, the G Ltd, a Pajero and an Audi TT all in different states of repair! The only good thing is I finally got motor trade insurance so at least its only one policy for all now.
Im based in Castleisland these days so ya give me a shout if you are around

With all those cars the trader's policy is just what you need

Missed the cars and coffee again. Fla, you got a good deal on that insurance package, a standard policy and classic policy is probably 2/3 the price and wouldn't have suited you
