Dunno... they work okay for me at 14psi

Why not try those 4-prong sparkplugs ? I have used them in other cars (NA though) and they're fine

Steve,

What heat range are the plugs you are using? Are they iridium or normal platinum type and are you forced induced or NA?

I've NGK BKR7E-11 plugs (one step cooler than the MX-5 NA plugs).
Its turbo'd @ 11psi. Have had problems in the past with the pressure blowing out the spark, solved it by reducing the spark gap.. but, it comes back after a couple of thousand k.

Frank, had a good look at one of the 4 pronged plugs today, they look like they might be worth trying.
Just need to find the right ones for a turbo'd '5

That part number is an Iridium plug right?

Does your car run coil packs or ignition leads?

If the 11 psi is blowing out the spark from an Iridium plug, I would check further up - coilpacks / ignition module and spark plug leads (depending on which one the car runs).

We use the iridium spark plugs on turbocharged cars running up to and over 30psi with no problems - as long as your coils and leads etc are able to supply the voltage necessary for the spark.

Yup Iridium, its has a coil pack + leads (but not Coil on Plugs).
New coil a few months ago, the leads are Magnecor KV85 8.5mm Competition Ignition Leads (Frank swears by NGK blue wires, might have to give them a go.. ).

Has this always been doing it with the turbocharger on it?

Is it an intermittent problem or is it always there?

What kind of ECU are you running with this setup?

Nah, not always, its kinda intermittant too.. it could well be me fiddling with the tuning either, but it does seem to go away for a while after I regap the plugs so this is the reason I'm chasing down that direction.
1.6lt Link ECU.
