Heres my tupence worth.
Have been camping in Ireland for years on official sites, with the family - some great ones around:-
Eagle Point - near Bantry fab location at waters edge Glen of Aherlow - great - restaurant on site Bennetsbridge, Kilkenny - great (owner odd - but runs a good campsite - homemade breakfasts - animal farm (for Dillon - PJ) Two in Athlone - one near Clonmacnoise - quiet - and one beside Hodsun Bay hotel, at waters edge - both good Donard, Co Wicklow - close to Dublin.
Loads to choose from. If your going for an official site might be good idea to let them know in advance - Bennetsbridge in Kilkenny have a field by river which they keep for groups - away from the main campsite though - so if you need the loo in the middle of the night its a behind the tree jobby - used to be a chap there every summer who arrived in a Henkel Bubblecar and set up camp.
Oh, and you can put me down on the list, too.
Robin

We're on a week holiday from 8-15, so the last weekend in August is fine for me. I'm trying to convince my wife to come along. If she agrees, we'll be joining you saturday evening.
Cloggy FUN is never a straight line!

I remember Stephen. There again I also remember all the great camping trips I've had in this country.... actually no. They all ended in disaster. Chasing tents around Salthill in minus temps and gale force winds That said, I'm on for it.

Try to edit your first post and see if poll options come up. Or me/steve can add one for sure. And i would be up for it as long as i can get the time off etc. Ash
