ok heres the difference in the allignment between an mx5 and a roadster

mx5 min max
front caster 4 48, 6 48
camber 0 54 , 1 06
toe -0.3 , 2.2
rear camber -1 47 , 0 13
toe -0.3 , 2.2


roadster min max
front caster 4 55, 6 25
camber - 0 43 , 0 47
toe 0.3 , 1.5
rear camber -1 27, 0 03
toe 0.3 , 1.5

    That's interesting. I never knew that. Mine's a Roadster and I wonder whether my settings (done in Blake's Cross a while back) are the MX5 ones or the Roaster ones?

    Must get mine done one of these days. Where did you get yours done, Deccy?

    got it done in hanover tyres at the back of anglsea st in the city. didnt have a clue either until then

    It feels like a major difference between the Mx5/Eunos Roadster settings.

    Anyway. what did I do today ?
    Spent over an hour in the lashing rain taking off the exhaust. Left on the Greddy downpipe but took it off after that back to where the cat bolts onto....cept I dont have a cat.

    Cut a hole in the pipe for the flange

    Ready to have the valve bolted on and then back on the car tomorrow, valve will be right at the very end of the downpipe where it curves to the straight section. In the pic it kind of looks like the flange is 'smaller' than the exhaust pipe but it's actually LARGER.

    It's in, wired up and working 8)
    BLOODY LOUD just ticking over, I was even afraid to give it a rev :shock:
    Only thing is that there is a 'clearnance' issue now :cry:
    I'll sort that out later, gonna have some fun tonight :twisted:

    Do you fancy showing it off at the tech/social day on the 27th?? I know it's happening in Dublin and you're in Cork, but it would be a good excuse to test it out. :D :D

    A little preview, the vid isnt good quality but you'll get an idea of the RUMBLE! Gonna sort out the clearance issue tomorrow or Monday.

    I thought it was bad for an engine to run it with no back pressure on the exhaust manifold.
    Also don't you loose some pulling power when the valve is open. I know that when my 1.8 Diesel non-turbo van has the exhaust fully open at that same location, (due to rust) it's power drops to about 30 per cent of normal.

    Err Tom... my car is Turbo Charged :shock:
    Turbo handles all the fumes, anything after the Turbo is just bottling it up etc.

    I had forgot that the valve was going on to a turbo setup

    Spent the afternoon enjoying the sunshine and installing a new front grille and a set of Magnecor ingition leads. Attempted to renew the plugs but my plug removal tool was'nt long enough (no smart comments) - job for the next Tech Day
