K10 what do you want to do about the crank tool and the loctite?
If you want to give me a call, I can go through the set up before the fix.

That's great Ger. Hope she stays fixed.

Still waiting for my parts from Boundville. Ordered the Loctite from the UK too since it was reasonable enough over there. I think I'd prefer to attempt it without the tool. Thanks for the offer though.

Can't wait to get stuck in now, you've given me some confidence in the fix now.

Maybe we should keep our respective threads up to date with how long the dix lasts and combin them to make a tech article at some stage, once we know the fixes are permanent.

no worries, give me a call if you need anything.

Might be worth investing in a vacuum gauge, this will give a good in-car indicator of the state of tune. 20-24 Hg at tick over is normal but when the pulley slips this will gradually reduce, before the fix mine was reading 15 hg at tick over.

Best of luck with the fix, and take you time with the pulley assembly. Remember the loctite compounds are anaerobic so they wont dry until the parts are assembled.

K10, great idea! Feel free to post a "sticky" thread when you've the info together.
Cheers,

Thanks. You may be getting strange calls when I loctite the engine to itself.

A vac gauge would be a good idea, may get one to go with the boost guage when I get to turbo-time (after a few more pay-days)

Your Boost gauge will/should have vac on it.
