Fuel Mileage
This morning I went on a shopping trip, I wasn't in a hurry so took it easy and enjoyed the run.
When I pulled in to the Aldi car park after 16 kilometres, the display showed 4.6.

That's 4.6 litres per 100 km. that calculates to 61.4 MPG
That part of my journey used less than 0.75 litres! -- about €1.20
No need to think of going electric for a while

And I wasn't even trying for economy until the last couple of kilometres
or so when I noticed the low figure.

Last night I checked out the NCT website. My next test is not due till the
end of September, the first available date was in early July but by scrolling
along I could have booked it in for the beginning of September. I hadn't
expected that, just means more forward planning I suppose.

Economy Update.
Today I filled up with 28.4 kg of fuel (36.8 litres) in Letterkenny and drove to Strabane
and arrived with a L/100km. figure of 4.4 which is 64.2 mpg. That trip included a stretch of dual carriageway at 100 kph and the second half of the run was behind
slower traffic.

What Notch000 said :-)

That's great economy - that's hybrid figures!

Yea,- Even when I'm driving around in a hurry I still get good
figures like 5.2 L/100km. I checked back over my petrol pump
receipts and they are mostly around 50mpg with some 48s and 49s
and that includes driving in town centres and around car parks etc.

Nobody told me this car was so easy on fuel, before I bought it,
not even the Mazda literature.
